Implementation Week

Implementation Week
Nancy Jane Smith

Welcome to implementation week.

As a reminder, Change happens in small steps, and giving yourself a week to implement is one of the most self-loyal things you can do.

The intention of this week is for you to get a chance to implement what you have been learning by practicing self-loyalty in your day-to-day life. I say this every time, but I want you to remember:

It is an act of self-loyalty to catch up or re-listen to past lessons.

It is an act of self-loyalty to take a few days off from thinking about self-loyalty.

It is an act of self-loyalty to listen to the Ask Nancy Jane episodes because you haven't had time.

It is an act of self-loyalty to start implementing what you have been learning in your real life.

The beauty of self-loyalty is that only you can decide—there is no right way to spend implementation week:)

If you are someone who wants more structure on how to piece all these ideas together, here is a tangible action step.

At the end of last week, we talked bout the phrases that keep us stuck in hustling over-functioning such as you are killing it or your body is a machine.

Throughout this week, pay attention to those phrases.

It can be hard to notice because our Mongers are so wily and familiar.

Here are three tips:

  1. Set the alarm on your phone, and when it goes off, check in with yourself on what your Monger was saying to you over the past few hours. Is there a pattern?

  2. Or tie the reflection to a specific action, such as every time you go to the bathroom or fill up your water glass, you check in with yourself and notice what your Monger is saying.

  3. Do a post-mortem of the day. Look back on the day and notice when you were over-functioning. Was there a phrase your Monger was saying?

  4. On the days when you are particularly tired or not feeling 100%, what is the phrase your Monger says to 'inspire you.'

The goal is to draw attention to the phrase so you can start noticing it throughout the day and when you do, practice A.S.K.

As always, if you have any questions, let me know at questions@selfloyaltyschool.com.

See you in a few days!
