Implementation Week
Welcome to implementation week. I thought this was my week to break from thinking about my High Functioning Anxiety. So you might be asking yourself, Ok, Nancy, what is implementation week?" Good grief.
As a reminder, change happens in small steps and giving yourself a week to implement is one of the most self-loyal things you can do.
The intention of this week is for you to get a chance to implement what you have been learning by practicing self-loyalty in your day-to-day life.
It is an act of self-loyalty to catch up or re-listen to past lessons.
It is an act of self-loyalty to take a few days off from thinking about self-loyalty.
It is an act of self-loyalty to listen to the Ask Nancy Jane episodes because you haven't had time.
It is an act of self-loyalty to start implementing what you have been learning in your real life.
The beauty of self-loyalty only you can decide—there is no right way to spend implementation week:)
If you want more structure on how to piece all these ideas together, here is a tangible action step.
Over the past two weeks, we've talked about three themes of high-functioning anxiety, people pleasing through disappointing others, perfectionism in procrastination, and believing there is a right way through I did something good, but... Or justifying proving or defending or rigid rules or the BFF behaviors. I encourage you to pick one or two of these themes that you struggle with and spend some time over the next few days having kind curiosity about these behaviors and the beliefs that drive them. When you notice yourself engaging in a behavior such as people pleasing or perfectionism, or believing there is a right way, practice, A.S.K, acknowledge what you're feeling, slow down and get into your body, and kindly pull back to see the big picture, so you can bring in your biggest fan. Okay. That's it. I'll see it in a few days.
